According to The Amish Cook At Home, Amish people developed a love for Mexican food after events that took place over a century ago. Amish people went to Mexico to flee a military draft and potentially acquire huge pieces of land. They ended up incorporating Mexican foods, like salsa and tortillas, into many of their kitchens.
