They Dig Graves By Hand

Funerals are held in the homes of the deceased with simple coffins handmade by community members.  Graves are dug by hand, with no assistance from machinery, and burials don’t take place until three days after a death.

The whole process seems kind of morose; Amish people believe that a spirit leaves the body upon death, and no eulogies are delivered.
