The Real Reason Behind Painful Toe Cramps

Toe cramps can be a real pain, literally. Whether during exercise or at night, the sudden onset of toe cramps can be a frustrating and painful experience. Toes comprise several small muscles that help us balance and move. These muscles are called intrinsic foot muscles, and they are responsible for flexing and extending the toes and stabilizing the foot. When these muscles become fatigued, they may cramp up or spasm, leading to toe cramps.

A comfortable, supportive shoe can also help prevent cramps by providing your feet with proper alignment and cushioning.
