Charles Darwin

Charles Robert Darwin (12 February 1809 – April 19, 1882) was an English naturalist, geologist, and biologist. He is well known for his contributions to the science of evolution. Darwin published his evolutionary theory with convincing evidence in his 1859 book on the origin of species. His proposition that all species of life came from common ancestors is now widely accepted and viewed as a fundamental concept in science. Darwin’s theory of evolution and the process of natural selection went on to become known as “Darwinism.” After a lifetime of hard work, Charles Darwin died at his home in Down House, London, on April 19, 1882.
