Flight Anxiety? Here’s What You Can Do

There are more than 25 million Americans who fear flying. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, Aerophobia, or fear of flying, ranks second most common in the U.S.

The anxiety and Depression Association of America states that other worries, such as enclosed spaces of bad things in the air, may trigger fear of flying.

Dr. Kevin Gilliland, a licensed clinical psychologist, explained that irrational, worst-case scenarios fuel anxiety. He pointed out that “our anxious thoughts can even trigger physical symptoms.”
