If you’re a member of an Amish community and you’re served a Meidung order, it’s pretty much over. Meidung is the practice of shunning, a form of social rejection that Amish people use as punishment for disobeying their religious and cultural codes. Its goal is to encourage the shunned member to change their behavior and return to the community’s norms.
