Greywacke Statue Tribute To Isis

Where Was It Found: Bought at a London auction.

Worth: $5.9 million

People believe that Isis, the Egyptian Goddess, helps the dead in their journey to the afterlife. She is widely worshipped among all the healing and motherhood deities. This 2.4ft statue holds a world record for an Egyptian statue after being sold at a 2012 London auction.

The statue was carved in 664-525 BC and is believed to have been an object of public worship. A French family cared for the figure from the 1840s and was in pristine condition at the auction. It was sold in an auction in 2012 in a bidding war for almost $6 million.
