Scary and strange
Amidst the tranquility of a weekend afternoon, John found himself engrossed in a book on the back porch, while his wife, Liz, tended to their garden. Suddenly, a piercing scream shattered the calm, prompting John to leap from his chair and rush to Liz’s side. Miraculously unharmed, Liz pointed frantically to a peculiar sight. Before them lay a small snake, an unlikely guest in their serene setting. To John’s bewilderment, the snake sported two diminutive arms, an anomaly in the reptile world. Intrigued by the harmless appearance, John cautiously picked it up for closer inspection. Yet, the tranquil facade shattered when the creature vehemently hissed and sank its fangs into John’s wrist.
