There’s nothing like a good sci-fi movie to get your imagination going. If you’re always first in line to see a new movie set in space or a dystopian future, here are four upcoming films you might not be aware of:
High Life
Robert Pattinson has come a long way since his Twilight days. He now stars in High Life, a story of a group of death row inmates sent into deep space for a mysterious reproductive experiment. A baby is born, and soon she and her father, Monte (Robert Pattinson) are the only ones left on the ship. He must find out why if he hopes to protect his daughter. Juliette Binoche also stars as the doctor in charge of the mission.
Fast Color
Our world is fascinated by superhero movies, but not all of them are huge spectacles like Infinity War or Spider-Man. Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars as Ruth, a woman with superhuman powers. Years after leaving her family in order to keep them safe, she’s reunited with them because Ruth’s daughter also possesses mysterious abilities. Now, together, they must keep their powers a secret.
Captive State
Ten years after an alien force took over the planet through trickery, a Chicago police officer (played by John Goodman) must bring humans together to fight back. The film has been in development since 2016 and is currently scheduled for release in March. Ashton Sanders, Machine Gun Kelly, and Vera Farmiga also star.
Ad Astra
Twenty years ago, Roy McBride’s father disappeared while on a mission to Neptune in search of alien life. Now, Roy is going to find him. This big-budget epic stars Brad Pitt as Roy, with Tommy Lee Jones as his father. Ruth Negga and Donald Sutherland are also credited. We don’t have a trailer yet, and the film is scheduled for a May release.
