Your Body Needs More Calories And Fewer Meals
It’s surprising how much you eat at a given time and how often throughout the day. Nelson says, ” Focus on your meal size and frequency. The size and timing of your meals affect your energy levels; no one solution works 100% of the time for everyone.”
It is obvious how noticeable the difference between meal sizes can be after eating a large meal. Every individual is different. “Some people reach their optimum energy levels by eating smaller meals with occasional snacks between meals,” Nelson explains.
Sugar Is Lurking In Your Diet
Sugar affects your mood and blood glucose levels. Sugar produces a crash that can send you into a downward spiral. Nelson explains, “Look for sources of added sugar and be aware of their sources. Energy crashes and early hunger may result from sweets and sodas high in sugar.”
“Health” foods that contain added sugars are among the biggest culprits of sneaky sugars. Nelson says, “Sweetened coffees are supposed to energize you with caffeine but will often cause a sugar crash.”
Improve The Balance Of Your Meals
You may suffer from low energy levels if you eat an imbalanced diet. Lethargy, fogginess, and low energy can result from not getting enough energy-boosting vitamins and minerals.
Nelson explains, “Eat a balanced diet. Veggies, fruits, healthy fats, and proteins contribute to more sustained energy levels by providing vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates.”
