Red Velvet Bundt Cake Recipe

Here are the ingredients that you need to compile to complete this recipe:


  • 1 box red velvet cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 12 oz softened cream cheese
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp flour


  • 1 container cream cheese frosting (or homemade) store bought


Here are the directions that you need to follow in order to complete this recipe:

  1. First, you need to preheat the oven to 325 degrees and grease a bundt cake pan with non-stick spray. Set it aside for now.

  2. In a large bowl or a stand mixer, combine all of the cake mix, sour cream, oil and eggs and mix until well combined. Set aside the mixture.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine all of the cream cheese, sugar and flour and beat everything with the mixer until the consistency is creamy.

  4. The next step is to pour half of the cake batter into the bottom of your pan. Make sure it is spread fairly evenly around the bundt pan. Now, you need to Spoon the cream cheese filling around the center. You can also do this using a piping bag if you want to keep the cream cheese filling the center of the pan. Leave a border on the outside and inside edges of your cake. This will keep the cream cheese filling confined to the inside of the cake. Now, you need to pour the remaining batter over the top of the mixture and spread it around evenly.

  5. Bake the cake for 50-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes then invert to remove cake from bundt pan. Cool completely on wire rack.

  6. To frost the cake, remove the foil from the frosting container and remove the lid. Place the frosting into the microwave and heat for 10 seconds, take it out and stir. Continue cooking at 5 seconds intervals until desired consistency has been reached. Carefully pour or spoon the frosting over the top of your cake as desired.
