Pfizer-BioNTech announced that its vaccine is safe and effective for young kids. The good news is that the FDA has approved Pfizer for children between 5-12 years. It is a great sigh of relief for all the parents of this particular age group.
According to the New York Times, the countries with the lowest adult vaccination rates recorded the highest number of cases, with almost 30,000 children hospitalized due to COVID-19 in August.

Doses to children were one-third the size of adult doses, given in two doses spaced at three weeks. There were few similar side effects in young children as in young adults. The FDA was under pressure to authorize vaccines for kids.
It had approved the Pfizer vaccine for kids 12 to 15 in May 2021, two months after the drug company submitted trial results to the agency. Pfizer also states that vaccines will be available for age groups below five years once we get the results later this year.
