Here are the directions that you need to follow in order to complete this recipe:

  1.  The first step is to make a red sauce. In a medium saucepan, on medium heat, warm the olive oil, then add the garlic and onions into the pan.
  2. Next, when the garlic and onions are soft and translucent (which should take about 2 minutes) add in the crushed tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinegar and salt. Stir the mixture to combine.
  3. Keep the mixture on a medium heat until the mixture has reduced in size by half, which should take about 7 minutes. Now, take the pan off of the heat, and transfer the mixture to a blender to puree into the consistency of a pizza sauce. Once that is done you want to let the mixture cool completely.
  4. Now, you want to heat the oven to 350F to prepare for baking.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, paddle together all of the red sauce, cheeses and pepperoni until all ingredients break down and blend together. This process should take about 3 minutes.

  6. Transfer the mixture into a shallow heat safe crockpot, and top it with extra cheese and pepperoni. Bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes until the center has warmed and cheese on top has caramelized.

  7. Serve with crunchy baguette slices or pita chips, or whatever you want!
