As fans of the tv show The Voice already know, coach Adam Levine has officially hung up his coaching gloves. Although the announcement hit some fans hard, we then learned that yet another coach would not be returning for the new season. The next question then became who would be leaving and who will be the newest coach on the block? Well, now we have our answer.
When the official eighteenth season of The Voice premieres, along with Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend and host Carson Daily will be the newest addition to the coach’s chair—Nick Jonas.
Jonas has been very positive and outspoken on his being added to the panel of coaches:
“I’m so excited to be a part of The Voice family. It’s such an awesome group of individuals, and I can’t wait to help these artists really build and hone in to find their unique voices.”
Fans may remember that, in addition to performing solo, Jonas is also a member of The Jonas Brothers, along with both his brothers Kevin and Joe. With their return to music earlier this year, their new single “Sucker” debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 in the number one spot.
Also earlier this year, the Jonas Brothers appeared on Songland, an NBC music competition series, much like The Voice. The NBC president of alternative and reality Group, Meredith Ahr, stated that with his natural musicality and passion that she saw him bring to his appearance on Songland more than proves that Jonas is an incredible fit to fill the coach’s chair on The Voice.
Each year The Voice showcases the best raw talent from around the country, as they each hone and perfect their singing voices in their effort to be declared The Voice and sign a contract that may send them into the realm of stardom of which they dream. Added on their journey is one of four coaches who will use what they know to aid in making one singer’s dreams come true.
