New “House of Cards: Season 6” Trailer Reveals Ruthless Claire

The final season of Netflix’s first streaming-exclusive original series, the political drama “House of Cards,” is going to be the most divergent by far. After the controversy regarding Kevin Spacey that led to his termination from the show, the showrunners scrambled quickly to continue the series without him. Thankfully, the sixth season will be the last one to bring the series to a close, but the show seems intent on going out with a bang as Robin Wright assumes the lead role.

Wright’s character of Claire Underwood was the wife of President Frank Underwood, the character previously played by Spacey for the past five seasons. As seen in the previous trailer, the new season will begin with Frank’s death and Claire taking over the duties as the President of the United States of America. And as this new trailer reveals, she’s going to be facing the same amount of distrust and savagery as her husband once faced in his struggle for power and keeping a lid on dark secrets. The trailer also reveals the roles of Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear, as well as the returning character of Doug who is still fearful of Claire even after his boss is out of the picture.
