One of the most ingenious and delicious desserts is the combination of cookies and peanut butter, popularly known as cookie butter. It’s a delicious butter made from crushed up cookies which is a yummy as a spread or eaten right out of the jar.
One company is taking that cookie butter concept a step further, by making cookie butter ice cream. The Lotus Biscoff company recently announced that they will release five different flavors of cookie butter ice cream.
These flavors are Original, Chocolate Brownies, Salted Caramel, Belgian Chocolate Chips, and Blueberry Cheesecake. The ice cream will be made from Biscoff cookies and the brand’s original cookie butter. Each individual flavor will have bits of Biscoff cookies inside of it as well for extra texture. Each flavor will be available in a pint size, and is expected to be available in grocery store chains across the United States.
In a statement, Michelle Singer, general manager of Lotus Bakeries US said, “Biscoff is exploding in the U.S. and we can’t be more excited to bring the beloved Biscoff taste to ice cream.” Lotus Biscoff is known for its speculoos biscuits, which is a spiced shortcrust biscuit which is very popular in the United Kingdom.
In addition to the cookie butter ice cream, a Biscoff ice cream bar is also coming out. This ice cream bar will consist of the original cookie butter ice cream, dipped in cookie butter and then dipped in Belgian chocolate with bits of shortcrust cookie inside it.
The pints have actually been available in many grocery store frozen foods section in the United States since early July, although the ice cream bars will be arriving stateside in October 2019. There is no official retail price on the cookie butter ice cream or the ice cream bar.
