Ireland Baldwin Says She Has Cardiophobia

Ireland Baldwin speaks about her anxiety disorder.

Ireland is the daughter of former couple Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. She shared a post on Instagram where she holds a blood pressure monitoring device, which has helped manage a fear that she has struggled with for a long time.

Ireland wrote, “It is not an ad for a blood pressure machine. I am posting this for whoever suffers from anxiety disorders. I ordered a blood pressure monitor to accurately read my heart rate and blood pressure because I live in a constant fear that I am dying from a heart attack, also known as cardiophobia.”

She was having symptoms of anxiety which include “heart palpitations” and “chest pain.” She called the ambulance and rushed to the hospital, where she confirmed from medical professionals that there was no problem with the heart.

Ireland says if anyone is suffering from anxieties, make sure I am here, and you are not alone. It can be so embarrassing and isolating at times.

She says, “My anxiety has made me miss out on a lot in my life, and my goal for 2022 is not to let it get in my way. Don’t let people make you feel guilty for having to take a walk or take some space or stay home because you are not feeling good.”

Ireland has shared her mental health struggles several times. She went live on Instagram in 2018 to talk about overcoming body image problems.

She writes, “I battled with many eating disorders and body issues as a younger girl, and it took me a long time to find self-love and acceptance! Trust me, all of that pain and destruction I inflicted on myself wasn’t worth it.
