Hocus Pocus 2 May See A Return Of The Original Sisters

Recent rumors and speculations indicate that fans of the Hocus Pocus franchise may possibly be seeing a return of the original Sanderson sisters in a sequel.

A report suggests that all three original actresses—Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, are rumored to be active in discussions concerning their possible return to the franchise.

It was already reported last year that the sequel was planned to be developed at Disney+, the question has remained as to whether or not the original three actresses would be returning as well.

Although all three actresses have already said they were very interested in returning, there has not been any indication that Disney has approached the women for negotiations.  This news left many fans worried as to the possibility that the sequel would take another direction, and the Sanderson sisters would end up being left out of the new story.

Those worries can be considered a thing of the past, as the latest rumor is that the three originals are currently in talks with Disney to hammer out their appearances in Hocus Pocus 2.

None of the three can be confirmed as having signed on officially to the production, but zoom meetings have been taking place.  Considering all the indications that all three are showing a strong interest, it would seem only likely that the discussions will follow through.

Back in May, co-star Parker, when asked about the possible return of the Sanderson sisters, stated that she thought that both Bette and Kathy were very receptive and hospitable to the whole idea.  The actress went on to say:

“I think now we have gotten to the point where we all have agreed publicly to the right people that ‘Yes, that would be a very, very fun idea.’ So we’ll see what the future holds.”
