From Hamburgers To Chevy’s

It would seem that Mark Wahlberg is adding another notch in his entrepreneurial belt.  It has been announced that he is taking on the business of cars—Chevy’s to be exact.  Having teamed up with friend Jay Feldman, he bought a Chevy dealership in Columbus Ohio.  In a deal that closed this past week, the pair are now co-owners of Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet.  The pair thought the location was perfect, as they both have other business investments in the state.

The two business are no strangers to being partners, as they originally met during Mark’s filming of the Transformers movie in Detroit.  It was then that they partnered up for a Wahlburgers restaurant in Cleveland, as well as a master franchise of the famed restaurant in Georgia.  The two men, who were looking for a dealership since 2017, finally hit on Bobby Layman Chevrolet.

The dealership itself is massive in size.  The 70,000 square foot business sits on a whopping 15.5 acres, with includes a two-story showroom along 50 service stalls.  The dealership currently staffs 100 employees, which all remain, with the additional hiring of added sales representatives and service technicians.  Wahlberg and Feldman’s plans are to continue building on the dealership’s success in the hope of adding more dealerships to the market area.

Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet is just the latest addition to an already impressive list of business holdings of the actor.  His portfolio includes a movie production company, the Wahlburgers restaurant chain, the nutrition supplements company Performance Inspired Nutrition, partnership in the AQUAhydrate bottled water line, and now his co-owned Chevrolet dealership.

Although Feldman will serve as the principal operating director of the dealership, Wahlberg intends to have an active role as well.  He stated they were partners, and that he planned on being at the dealership on a regular basis.

One has to ask themselves, with all this side work going on, how does he find the time to make movies?
