The great thing about pizza is that it is a very versatile food. There are great debates among people about what are the best pizza toppings. Also, in the age of online ordering, it’s most easier to fully customize your pizza with or without different sauces and double helpings of a nearly unlimited amount of toppings.
Domino’s pizza is an international chain and some of the more interesting pizza toppings and trendy foods tend to appear on menus overseas instead of in the United States. The newest trend is a pizza with a hot dog crust. Domino’s has added two new menu items including hot dogs.
Domino’s recently released the Hot Dog Pizza, which is a regular hand tossed pizza, with a crust filled with hot dogs, which are regular sized and not cut into pieces. In addition to the crust, this hot dog pizza will also include slices of hot dog on top of the pizza like an extra meat topping. There is also sausages, crispy onions, pickles and lots of barbeque sauce.

The hot dog calzone is the other new menu item. The Domino France Cal’z Hot Dog is a calzone filled with slices of hot dog. The calzone will also include a generous helping of mozzarella cheese, thin hot dog slices, and yellow mustard. As a calzone is basically a pizza that has been folded in half, there is also lots of crispy dough to enjoy in this calzone.
These two new menu items with hot dog inspiration are only available in France and they will only be available for a limited time. Domino’s currently has no plans to expand these new menu items to other countries, including the United States. Fans eager to try these hot dog pizza mashups will have to travel to France to enjoy them.
