It seems that the overall synopsis of the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been changed. Both Disney and Marvel have officially released a new summary of the much-anticipated sequel that will pick up after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Rumors have speculated, up to this point, that Doctor Strange is set to recall the power of the entire multiverse, resulting in the return of various beloved MCU characters and introducing new ones.

The new official synopsis that was recently released states:
“Marvel Studios Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens the door to the MCU’s Multiverse and goes even further. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange who, with the help of old magical allies and new ones, transverses alternate and dangerous realities to face a mysterious new opponent.”
The upcoming film will serve as the second entry into Marvel’s Doctor Strange franchise–the surgeon turned sorcerer portrayed by actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The film will be part of the studio’s phase four of their Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began back in 2008 with Robert Downey, Jr’s Iron Man.
Over the last few years, there have been various rumors as the production had been halted and production pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. One such rumor states that the studio contacted Ben Affleck for a possible cameo of his version of Daredevil.

Then there are the other rumors that Sophie Turner was spotted with red hair, and James Mcavoy has reportedly shaved. Could it be that we will see an appearance by two of the X-Men in the film?
Then there are the “leaked” photos from the set that show what appears to be Tom Cruise in Iron Man armor. Many have claimed that the image is fake for publicity’s sake, but I guess we will find out for sure later this year.
