In plain English: Livestly does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing for you to opt out of, because the sale and sharing of personal information is not something we do. This page explains what that means and how to exercise your privacy rights anyway.
What “sell” and “share” mean under California law
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”):
- To “sell” personal information means to disclose it to a third party in exchange for money or other valuable consideration.
- To “share” personal information means to disclose it to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising — that is, targeting ads to you based on your activity across different, unaffiliated websites.
We do neither. We do not exchange your name, email address, or other personal information for money, and we do not disclose your personal information to third parties so they can build advertising profiles of you across the web.
How we actually make money
Livestly is an advertising-supported publisher. Our content contains advertisements and affiliate links. When you click one of those links or ads, you leave our website and are taken to a third party’s site, which is operated under that third party’s own privacy policy and terms. If we are paid, it is a referral or advertising fee for sending you to that partner — not a payment in exchange for your personal information. We are not the seller of any third-party product or service; we simply link out to them. Any information you choose to provide once you are on a third party’s site is collected and handled by that third party, so we encourage you to review their privacy policy before sharing anything.
Cookies and advertising technology
Like most websites, we and our advertising and analytics providers may use cookies and similar technologies to collect technical and non-personal information (such as browser type, device type, and the ads you interact with) to measure performance and display advertising. To limit interest-based advertising, you can use the industry opt-out tools at www.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info, or adjust your browser’s cookie settings. We also honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, and how we use and disclose it;
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — although, as explained above, we do not sell or share it;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger this right; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to submit a request
Even though we do not sell or share personal information, you may still submit any privacy request. Contact us through our contact page with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” or “Privacy Request,” or write to us at the mailing address below. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly.
Residents of other states
Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights, including the rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. You may exercise those rights the same way — through our contact page.
