The upcoming reboot to the fan favorite tv series “Charmed” by the same name, is not even set to premiere until this fall, and already it is receiving massive backlash. Everyone from the cast to the fans of the original series is speaking up and making their opinion known on the new show.
In recently published interviews, all four actresses associated with the original series were more than glad to voice their opinions about the new look of the upcoming show.

Holly Marie Combs, who both starred in the original and served as a producer on several seasons took to Twitter with her thoughts on the matter:
“Here’s the thing. Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work. Charmed belongs to the 4 of use, our vast amount of writers, crews and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye.”
She then went on to say:
“While some may not get why I take issue with the network that didn’t want to renew Charmed 12 years ago ‘reimagining’ it now let me just say I understand it perfectly. Also this kinda stuff given all that Rose and Alyssa have done lately…um no. Just No.”

Co-star Rose McGowan took to Twitter as well, perhaps summing it all up in one simple tweet:
“They really are running out of ideas in Hollywood.”
The fans seem to share pretty much the same opinions on the reboot, some say they will watch it, but most say they will not. Many believe that the new series will not do the original justice. And in the end, the network will have to realize the hard way that when it comes to a cult series such as “Charmed”, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
