It’s the second week of March, and that means it’s time for National Pancake Day. Many days of the year include random holidays that revolve around delicious foods and this time it’s pancakes. Now, in honor of National Pancake Day, IHOP is teaming up with a popular candy brand to provide customers with an extra special treat.
IHOP, or the International House of Pancakes, is the best fast food restaurant in the country for pancakes and is celebrating its annual free pancake day on March 12. Now, they are teaming up with candy giant Oreo, to release a fun Oreo filled pancake, topped with Oreo crumbles.
For a twelve hour period, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., customers will be able to visit IHOP locations and receive free pancakes on March 12. Also, the new limited edition pancake special is the Oreo inspired dish called Oreo Oh! My Goodness Pancakes, which are made with Oreo chunks and have bits of Oreo cookies sprinkled on each layer, when covered with vanilla creme frosting and whipped cream on top.
Customers can order this limited edition chocolate treat as a dish of four large pancakes or as a side dish of two pancakes. The best thing about this new dish is that it was actually created by a six-year-old boy. The chain invited three kid chefs to create new recipe for the holiday and this recipe was the winner. In addition, anyone who visits on National Pancake Day will receive a free stack of buttermilk pancakes, and the new Oreo pancakes are really marketed to kids, so there is a delicious meal to be had for the entire family.
IHOP is using the opportunity to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Shriners Hospitals for Children. the fundraising goal right now is about four million dollars.
