Jennifer Chew, NASM certified personal trainer and weight loss specialist says that “It is possible to lose weight from cycling 30 minutes a day.” He explains that it can burn 200 calories on average, although it depends on fa ew factors, including your weight, intensity of your workout.
There are a couple of ways to work out if you are looking to burn the maximum number of calories.
- Up Your Resistance. The easiest way is to increase your resistance. “Cardio is like resistance training. You need to use progressive overload principles to get better and to avoid plateaus.” There are benefits to even slowing down your pace but increasing your resistance throughout your 30-minute workout.
- And in short, high-intensity intervals. When the body gets stronger, you can increase the intensity with a mixture of quick spin intervals. Try to add short bursts of sprints to your workout, or even slow intervals, high resistance cycle.
