In America, there is a fast food restaurant chain for every type of food you can want. For the most part, they specialize in one food or style, like Burger King selling burgers and Taco Bell being the go to destination for tacos and burritos. There are chicken chains like KFC and Popeyes, and regional chains like Whataburger and Taco Cabana.
However, the days of these chain restaurants sticking to their main menu item appear to be over. Burger giant Burger King recently announced that a crispy taco would be coming to their menu. Officially called the BK Crispy Taco, this item will only be available at participating Burger King locations for a limited time, although a specific time frame hasn’t been announced.
This is actually not the first time that Burger King has introduced a taco to their menu, which first happened back in 2010, although the trial appears to not have been that successful at the time. Technically, there is burger meat inside the taco, so the appearance of a taco on the menu isn’t completely a shock.

The BK Crispy Taco will be a corn tortilla with hamburger meat, lettuce, taco sauce and cheese. So far, this taco appears to have already been released in some parts of the country, although the reviews haven’t been truly stunning. The taco itself appears a bit sunken in the middle, similar to the tacos popular at Jack-In-The-Box.
One plus to the BK Crispy Taco is that customers will only have to pay one dollar for it, with the exception being the states of Hawaii and Alaska, where it will be a bit more costly due to location. Â According to Burger King, “The Crispy Taco features a crispy, crunchy tortilla filled with seasoned beef, shredded cheddar cheese and crisp lettuce, all topped with just the right amount of our savory taco sauce.”
