Adele Reveals Why She Didn’t Have Any Celebrity Friends Until Jennifer Lawrence

Adele Adkins is one of the world’s best-selling singers and songwriters with over 120 million records sold. She divorced her longtime partner Simon Konecki, relocated to Los Angeles with her young son, and recorded new videos.

For the first time, she forged relationships with famous personalities, including Jennifer Lawrence and reality TV personality Nicole Richie, her neighbors. Adele told Rolling Stone in a cover story that “they humanized me because I avoided talking to anyone who was very famous as I was like that.”

“Well, I am not famous; I am very British like that. Well, we do not speak about work, as most of the time when I catch up with someone, they want to know all about my work. I am like, I do not want to talk about that. Can we talk about something else? I’m exhausted.”

Adele and Jennifer Lawrence met first at the 2013 Oscars, and from there on, they started building up their friendship. They were regularly seen together on dinner dates with Emma Stone and Amy Schumer.

In 2016, Lawrence wrote about the singer saying, “We have seen her success and beauty. But what you don’t see is what a wonderful mother, partner, and friend are. Adele is a gift, an international treasure, sweet, funny, and beautiful. She makes her son’s Halloween costumes.”

She is all set to release her new album, “30.” The list of guests for her following CBS special, “Adele One Night Only,” where Oprah Winfrey interviews her, includes everyone from Lizzo and Tyler Perry to Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union.
