French’s Unveils Mustard Flavored Beer

Attention beer lovers and mustard lovers! Your worlds are about to collide. In honor of National Mustard Day, which is usually the first Saturday in August, French’s mustard has decided to unveil their latest product: Mustard flavored beer.

This limited-edition mustard beer launches on the craft beer marketplace called CraftShack on August 1, and it will also be available at select Oskar Blues Brewery locations in both Colorado and North Carolina. The retail price of a six pack will be around twenty dollars, and that price includes shipping if you are buying it online.

According to the company, the beer is at “semi-tart tropical wheat beer infused with citrus fruits,” including key lime, lemon, tangerine and passionfruit to complement the “spice and zip of the mustard.”

While a mustard flavored beer may seem like a far fetched idea, the company has actually been planning this for more than a year.  “The incredible reaction to last year’s release of our Mustard Ice Cream showed us how far people are willing to go to savor this favorite condiment,” Jill Pratt, chief marketing excellence officer at French’s, explained in a press release. “We promise this French’s Mustard Beer will not disappoint either.”

Some people have already been lucky enough to sample the new beer product and the reviews are mostly positive. There is a slight mustard flavor although it is faint and not overpowering. The drink itself has notes of fruit, and that is said to be the most powerful flavor in the beer. So a new experience for mustard lovers for sure.
