Want that spa glow without dropping spa dollars? Here are three fantastically simple recipes for DIY face masks using ingredients right out of your fridge or cupboard. Not only are they cheap and all-natural, they really work, too. Try one and see for yourself!
Clear and Fresh: Vitamin E & Honey Mask
Ingredients:
1 tsp honey
1 vitamin E capsule
Break open the vitamin E capsule into a small bowl and whisk in the honey to create a smooth paste. Apply all over your face and allow it to sit for 15 minutes.
Why It Works: Vitamin E is an essential mineral for glowing, healthy skin, hair, and nails. Additionally, honey is a terrific and natural remedy for acne. For an added gentle exfoliant, try using raw honey, which still contains small flecks of bee pollen. It tastes great, too!
Hydrate and Soothe: Avocado Yogurt Mask
Ingredients:
1/2 ripened avocado
1 tsp plain yogurt
Mash these two ingredients together until the avocado is soft and fully blended. Apply to face and let rest 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing.
Why It Works: Avocado is rich in antioxidants and cartenoids, thirst-quenching compounds that are thought to help fight wrinkles and fine lines. Plus, the lactic acid in yogurt and other dairy products can dissolve dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling smoother and tighter.
Energize and Exfoliate: Coffee-Cocoa Face Mask
Ingredients:
1 tbsp ground coffee
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp milk
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl to make a paste. Slather on face and let dry up to 20 minutes before washing off.
Why It Works: Coffee energizes your skin as well as your brain, all while reducing redness and exfoliating, too. Cocoa can help restore cells and fight acne with antioxidants. And the milk smooths it all over with a healthy dose of natural enzymes for a fresh-faced glow.
