Paramount Pictures has dropped its first full-length teaser trailer for A Quiet Place 2. In this newest release, we get a small, yet better glimpse into what is to come for the Abbott family. It appears that most of the core cast will be returning, minus John Krasinski.
The Abbott family is once again transversing through the post-apocalyptic world, living in utter silence. Following the events of the first film, they are doing so without their father, their husband, their leader. However, the twist this time out is that the sound-seeking monsters are not the only frightening things they will go up against.
As many may remember, Krasinski’s character sacrificed himself so that his children and his wife could live. And, as it turned out, the surviving family members found a way to kill the sound-seeking creatures. In this next installment, they will find themselves leaving the safety of the quiet, sandy path into very unfamiliar and uncharted territory.
Krasinski, director, co-writer, and star of the first installment, is back on board as director and writer in the sequel. There will also be some additional cast members, including Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) and Djimon Housou (Captain Marvel). Also returning are the surviving members of the Abbott family—Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe.
The sequel will pick up with the events that rocked the Abbott family at the end of the first film. As they continue to fight for their very survival, in utter silence, they will also have to come face to face with the many terrors of the outside world. During their journey from the sand path, into the unknown, they quickly learn that there are more lurking threats than the sound-seeking creatures.
A Quiet Place was a bonafide sleeper hit of 2018. With a relatively small budget of $17, the film went on to gross $340 million worldwide. With that kind of performance, a sequel was all but guaranteed.
A Quiet Place 2 is slated to hit theaters on March 20, 2020.
