15 Epic Movie Costume Mistakes We Never Noticed

It’s a well-kept secret that Hollywood is positively filled with time travelers.  At least that must be the case with all the period movies that have costume pieces that show up years, if not decades, too early.  From technology to clothing styles, Hollywood is constantly dressing actors up in plenty of things from the wrong era.

Captain America: The First Avenger – Bluetooth Headset

It’s a pretty common occurrence to see some pretty futuristic technology in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but The First Avenger is a period piece taking place in World War II.  That’s why it’s strange to see actor Jim Marita wearing a Bluetooth headset in the film.  Bluetooth wasn’t invented until about fifty years after Captain America’s Nazi-fighting days.

Django – Sunglasses

Jamie Foxx, as Django, just bleeds cool in this Quentin Tarantino movie.  His swagger, the way he talks, even his stylish shades.  The only problem is that Django takes place in the days of the wild west.  Darkened sunglasses, like the ones he wears in the movie, didn’t even exist until the 20th century.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves – Telescope

Nobody is claiming that Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a shining pillar of accuracy.  I mean Kevin Costner doesn’t even speak in a British accent in the movie.  But, that doesn’t excuse the fact that Costner whips out a telescope about 300 years too early.
