Dunkin’ Donuts is one of the most popular breakfast centric fast food restaurants in existence, and now they are expanding their menu beyond their iconic donuts. Instead of browsing the impressive selection of customized donuts, customers can now choose a bit of a healthier option: breakfast bowls.
Dunkin Donuts introduced the new breakfast bowls at the beginning of the year. There are two different options for customers to choose from, and each includes a filling portion of different breakfast foods. Also, these bowls are not the first breakfast options other than donuts offered by the chain, but they are the first bowls.
The Sausage Scramble Bowl comes in a tall, white bowl with the Dunkin’ Donuts logo all over it. The bowl includes sausage, scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, and pepper jack cheese all mixed together. For anyone looking for a health-conscious item, this bowl has 21 grams of protein and 450 calories.
The Egg White Bowl is the other option, and it includes egg whites, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and spinach. This bowl also has 14 grams of protein and 250 calories. According to Tony Weisman, Dunkin’s Chief Marketing Officer, these bowls will be limited time offer although they may stay longer if the customer response is good.
“After the success of our Power Breakfast Sandwich that launched earlier this year and has been extended due to popular demand, we found that our guests craved innovative, accessible, better-for-you menu choices. Our new Egg White Bowl is all that and much more with great taste, vegetables, lean protein and no bread. For guests looking for a heartier Dunkin’ Bowl choice, our Sausage Scramble Bowl is a great new option full of flavor and protein.”
Both breakfast bowls are available at Dunkin’ Donuts locations nationwide although a retail price has not been announced.
